This year had a special glow to all the activities and festivities! I think being three is a magical age...so much excitement over the small things for these littles. This year Rowdy completely got into the spirit! It was so fun to watch. And to watch our beautiful little girl enjoy everything about her first Christmas brought tears to my eyes.
This Christmas was different as normally we have houses somewhere full of family to celebrate with. This year, seeing that Rush has only been home a month, and we are still in the cocooning period of our bonding/attachment...we celebrated four wonderful days with daddy home, just the four of us! It was delightful! Don't get me wrong we LOVE our family and celebrating the holidays together, but there was a simplicity that was refreshing. We ate what and when we wanted, had no schedule or agenda, and just soaked in every moment of this special time in our family.
The littles slept in until 8am and they pilled into mama and dada's bed while daddy read the story of Christ's birth. We let them go thru their stockings and play with the contents for a little bit before we decided to head into the living room...where mama and dada had been up till the wee hrs of the night putting together special gifts from Gpa and Gma.
I had so much fun watching the faces of our beautiful children as they opened gifts that were well thought out and picked out JUST for them! Rowdy is in love with Arthur books right now, and i was tired of reading the three ones we had over and over so four new Arthur books waited under the tree for him, he stopped the gift opening to read a couple.
Happy Birthday Jesus...thank you for the best gift of all this year...a daughter for us and a sister for Rowdy!! Merry first Christmas, Rush!
A Christmas to remember for the ages. One of many firsts for sweet girl to come.
