18 months and flying by

Well, Rowdy and I enjoyed our first experience at the Kroc Center, a huge community center. We were able to gather up 6 mommies and 8 babies for a couple hours and it was and oh so good time. Rowdy started off a little slow. He for some reason, missed his morning nap completely and then fell asleep 30 mins before we had to leave, he must have known where we were going and the anticipation just kept him up all day. :)

Little grump face. He was pretty unhappy that mama stepped a few feet away to take a photo. But soon realized this was a really fun place. They had a baby area with a splash pad that was a soft bottom pool "puddle" that went from 6 inches deep to 1ft or so. Including fountains and sprinklers for even more enjoyment.

Rowdy enjoying some time with his sweet little girlfriend.

okay, here is the face we know and love! The happy boy returns, and was doing everything in his power, including showing his muscles to everyone who would pay attention, to show off.

We have been practicing in the bathtub, laying on his stomach and then telling him to "kick, kick, kick." He just loves this and did SO well trying it out in the pool. I think we have a little fish.

Our little billy goat, climbing to higher ground.

The disciplining era is slowly creeping in. This is an example of a "naughty behavior" of Rowdy's. He loves to have power over the TV, something of the adults. He pushes the power button on our cable box to make the TV go fuzzy. If you ask him not to touch it, he turns his little head, looks right in your eyes, and grins...if you make any movement towards him, he whips back around and frantically starts pushing the button, all the while....laughing. AHHHH I am not ready for this part of parenting!

Rowdy is VERY into reading books. He will read books by himself in the middle of all his toys in the living room. Just turning pages one by one, pointing at everything on the pages, and gibbering to himself. The books don't even need to be right side up to be enjoyed.

This is a new trick he finds to be just so gosh darn funny! He will drink out of his sippy with no hands and then look up at with a serious milk face and just cackle away!

Everyday that goes by, the bond between this boy and his dog grows and grows. I will occasionally peak over to see him plop himself right next to her and just pat her back a few times, lean in for a very open mouthed kiss, then give a "lovey" where he turns his head and leans into her. He has learned to play fetch with her, which has to be one of the cutest things. He likes to take her ball, walk away from her a few feet and then   "throw" it...which pretty much means he throws it over his right shoulder behind him. He gets a pretty big kick out of it.

Oh, the love of my life!!!

I end with this photo, which I hope makes you smile! Daddy's little mini me. These boys rock my world, and I wouldn't be whole without them!

  1. Such sweet photos--I love them! The one with Rowdy "hitting it hard" on his milk cup is hilarious--like the baby version of a beer bong--LOL! And I just love the "Lance and his mini-me" photo--that's a classic!

I can't believe how quickly Rowdy is growing up--he's learning new things every day and we are just so proud of him! Give him a kiss from his Gma CiCi, OK?
