Home for the Holidays

There is nothing like going home for the holidays...I just love going home to my mom and dad's...I always say that "home" is great but MY HOME is the greatest. My mom still hangs all the Christmas lights throughout the house like we used to do together when I was younger living at home. It makes me happy, I just love twinkle lights.
This year Rowdy was still too young to really have the anticipation of Christmas and all the festivities BUT I do know that it sure was a wonderful surprise for him around every corner of the holidays with the unexpected FUN activities, i'm sure he was wondering why we had been holding out on so many fun things before. :)

Rowdy opening presents just melted this mamma's heart...oh he was SO cute, and EVERYTHING he opened was THE BEST present EVER!!!! With every tear of that paper he would get more excited, his little gasps and his sweet little face in an honest expression of pure surprise...eyebrows raised, eyes wide, his sweet little mouth saying "oooooo" and then GIGGLES!! Ohhh it was so beautiful and made my heart overf
Our family tradition on Christmas morning, before racing to open the gifts placed under the tree, with coffee in hand, we listen to my dad read the real Christmas story...the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This is my favorite part of Christmas morning...refocusing about what we are REALLY celebrating and the gifts we  are about to exchange are in remembrance of the gift that our God lovingly gave us, His son.

We had a white Christmas...it snowed on Christmas Eve, and Christmas...just perfect timing!! It didn't dump snow but did bring enough that we could pull Rowdy around in the sled on the deck. My parents live on a lake, so the hills at our house are really sides of the mountain. :) So, we just did deck sledding, which this year, he was completely satisfied with this kind of sledding...next year he will probably be ready to go actual hill sledding.

Starting to get cold hands...he wouldn't keep his little gloves on his hands.
We of course had to have a little dance party in the middle of the road to end the snow fun day.

Grandma Cici bought Rowdy a Gingerbread man to decorate and he thought this is SO fun...see this excited "THIS IS THE COOLEST THING" face...this is a face we saw A LOT over the holidays! :)

Mom helped with the frosting and Rowdy decorated with M & M's and sprinkles

We hope that you all had a VERY Merry Christmas and wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
