The first couple days of in the hospital were filled with love, awe, and lots of family! We just can't stop looking at him, he is SO cute! Right away Lance stated that Rowdy was my mini me...and I had to agree, he sure did look like my baby pictures. We are studying his face, his hands, his feet, and we are just in love. He notice Rowdy definitely has my lips, but definitely has Lance's chin. =) Lance and I enjoy the first few hours together bonding as a family before people started showing up...it was a wonderful time getting to know each other and really getting our time in before we shared him with anyone, priceless time.

First to arrive at the hospital were my parents, Grandma Cici and Grandpa GoGo when Rowdy was 4 hours old.

Next the Atwood Clan stopped by to view the newest Gustafson member. Rowdy was VERY sleepy from his adventure into this world. We would both get our vitals checked every 4 hours, so many people coming in and out. My post surgery recovery was going great, they didn't allow me to get out of bed which really gave my body time to recover.

Lance give Rowdy his first bath in the room while I watch from bed. Rowdy is not so pleased, he is just fussing the whole time! =) Unfortunately for him, we just think its cute! Lance was one proud daddy.

Rowdy's bath was cut short because they didn't like the way he was breathing. They refered to it as wet breathing. They said that was common in baby's who were born via C-section because the fluid in their lungs wasn't squeezed out during the trip through the birth canal. They decided to take him down to the nursery to moniter his breathing for a couple hours. Lance escorted our son down to the nursery to sit with him while they checked him out. MG (Tutu) and Grandma Cici followed.
After a few hours they bring my baby back, I missed him SO much! They decide that he is doing okay and that it will just take some time and a few good crying sessions to get his lungs sounding good again. He just sounded very congested.
I just spend my time enjoying the medication, room service, and family. We are feeling high on life and so lucky to have such a sweet healthy little boy. We have been waiting to become parents...to become a family...GOD is good...GOD is great...he blessed us with our son and we just can't stop smiling!
Great story. Keep 'em coming. I love reading about your little family!!
ReplyDeleteOh the memories...it seems so far away and yet it was a mere 8.5 weeks ago. Those were the sweetest of days for sure...
